Inspection
Checkpoint severity rating
The Pass / Monitor / Minor / Major / Safety scale used to score each item on a PPI report.
Pass = no issue. Monitor = note for next service. Minor = under $500 to fix. Major = $500+ to fix or affects reliability. Safety = unsafe to drive, must be fixed before purchase. Severity ratings turn a 150-checkpoint inspection into a clear buy/walk-away decision and a costed negotiation brief.
