Our founding inspector started at Ultratune Marrickville in 2003, moved into VW dealer diagnostics, then went out on his own in 2017. They had spent years watching customers roll in with problems that should've been caught before they bought the car. Aussie Auto Care was started because the team believed mobile inspections were the simplest way to stop that happening.

"I still get annoyed when I find a car that's been patched up to sell. That's the whole reason I do this."

After seven years in an OEM battery lab, our senior EV inspector joined us to build the EV inspection service and wrote the degradation models we now use across Tesla, BYD, Polestar, MG and the Korean brands. Lower North Shore EV bookings are handled by inspectors who know the local charging infrastructure.

"The battery pack is half the value of a used EV. Most people don't check it. We do."

Our South Sydney inspector came from a 4WD workshop in Caringbah. The role focuses on finding stuff sellers hope you won't notice — bent rails, cracked housings, fresh underbody paint, the lot. Covers Sutherland Shire and St George, and includes detailed underbody work.

"Sellers clean the engine bay and hoover the carpets. I look underneath."

Our western Sydney inspector is a former Ford diesel technician covering Parramatta through to Campbelltown. The team completes many ute and van inspections — Rangers, Hiluxes, D-Maxes, Amaroks. The experience helps distinguish what a worked diesel actually looks like versus what the odometer says. The findings are documented independently.

"A clean interior doesn't mean the engine hasn't been flogged. You have to check the logs and the hardware."

Handles the phones, booking slots, dealer access, payments and follow-ups. If a yard restricts access or wants to move the car before the appointment, the customer care team resolves it before the inspector even leaves. The team has been in automotive service desks long enough to know every excuse.

"People are stressed when they call. My job is to make the booking the easy part."
