Booking
How to book, lead times, what to send us.
How fast can you inspect?

Most Sydney metro suburbs get an inspector onsite within 3–6 hours of booking. Outer regions (Penrith, Campbelltown, Northern Beaches) are typically same-day or next-morning.

What do I need to send when booking?

Address of the car, seller's contact name and number, the rego or VIN, and your preferred time window. We confirm with the seller directly so you don't have to play middle-man.

Can you inspect at a dealership?

Yes. We do not charge dealers and we don't accept dealer payment — we work exclusively for you, the buyer. Most dealers welcome us; if any refuses, that's already a red flag.

Can I be there during the inspection?

Absolutely — and we recommend it. The inspector walks you through every finding live, in plain English.

Pricing & payment
Costs, what's included, fees, GST.
How much does an inspection cost?

From $329 for passenger cars in metro Sydney, up to $549 for 4WDs, EVs and light commercial. Full breakdown on our pricing page — no hidden fees, GST included.

Are there any surcharges?

We do not charge any surcharge at all. No hidden fees.

When do I pay?

Card on booking, fully refundable up to 12 hours before the inspection. We don't take cash — keeps the audit trail clean if you need to dispute later.

Do you offer EV battery test separately?

Yes — a standalone EV battery State-of-Health test is $249 and includes a printable certificate suitable for negotiation or insurance.

Inspection reports
How to read your report, sharing, re-checks.
When will I get the report?

Within 3 hours of the inspector leaving the car. Most reports are delivered same-day before 6pm.

What's in the report?

200+ checkpoint summary, severity coding (Pass / Monitor / Repair Soon / Critical), photo evidence on every fault, scan-tool DTC printout, paint-depth map and an inspector's bottom-line recommendation.

Can I share the report with the seller?

Yes — every report has a private share link you can send. Sellers can view but not edit. Most price-down negotiations are won by simply forwarding the link.

What if I want a second opinion?

Call us. The lead inspector is happy to walk you through any finding, free, on the phone.

Cancellations & rescheduling
Refund windows, no-show policy, weather.
Can I cancel?

Yes — full refund up to 12 hours before the booked time. Inside 12 hours we keep a $80 dispatch fee. After the inspector has left for the job, no refund.

Seller pulled out — what now?

If the seller cancels before we arrive, we reschedule or refund in full. If we arrive and the car isn't there, the dispatch fee applies.

What about rain?

We work in light rain (covered diagnostics, scan tool, interior). For heavy rain we reschedule the road test only — at no cost.

Payment & invoices
Cards accepted, receipts, business invoicing.
What cards do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Apple Pay and Google Pay also work at checkout.

Can I get a tax invoice?

Yes — every booking emails a GST-compliant tax invoice immediately. Business name and ABN can be added at checkout.

Do you offer Afterpay?

Not currently — fees would have to be passed on, and inspection pricing matters more than buy-now-pay-later for a single visit.

EV inspections
Battery health, Tesla specifics, charging.
Do you test EV battery health?

Yes — we use AVILOO-trained methodology and OEM scan tools to measure State-of-Health (SoH) accurately, not the inflated dash estimate. Works on Tesla, BYD, MG, Polestar, Hyundai, Kia and most others.

Is the SoH number reliable?

Our method is repeatable and audit-able. We share the raw cell-balance data, not just a single number. The output is suitable for negotiation, insurance and warranty claims.

Can you test a Tesla without the owner's login?

Yes. The diagnostics we run don't require the owner's Tesla account — we use OBD-II + cabin telemetry on a drive cycle.

NSW compliance
Pink slips, blue slips, rego transfer, defects.
Do you do pink slips (eSafety)?

Yes — we are a TfNSW-authorised AIS (#4421). We can combine a pink slip with a pre-purchase inspection at a discounted bundle.

What about blue slips?

Blue slips require a workshop-based AUVIS station. We don't issue them, but the report we produce satisfies most blue-slip preliminary requirements.

What's the difference between a pink slip and a pre-purchase inspection?

A pink slip is a minimum legal safety check (lights, brakes, tyres, seatbelts). A pre-purchase inspection is a full 200+ point mechanical, electrical and body assessment. A car can pass a pink slip and still have $8k of hidden faults — we see it every week.
