Where the car is registered, insured and the seller consents, yes. A highway leg is far more informative than suburban streets, because vibration, wheel balance, gearbox lock-up and steering pull often only appear above 80 km/h. If the car is unregistered or the seller declines a road test, the report says so rather than leaving the section blank.

The car is close to the airport flight path. Does noise affect the inspection?

It affects method, not quality. Some faults are heard before they are measured — a dry bearing, an exhaust blow, a lifter tick. Under the approach path we do the listening work between movements and back it up with instruments rather than relying on ear alone, and the scan-tool live data is unaffected either way.

Do I need to be at the inspection?

At those speeds an out-of-balance wheel, a worn driveline joint, a converter that will not hold lock-up or a warped rotor announce themselves; below 60 km/h most of them stay hidden. Low-lying streets near the Cooks River flats

The land between Arncliffe station and the river is flat and barely above the waterline. On a car that has spent years parked at that level, moisture shows up first in the boot well, the spare-wheel tub, the underlay beneath the front seats and the floor pan around the seat rails, so those are the areas we open up and probe with a moisture meter. What a mobile inspection can't tell you.

A pre-purchase inspection in Arncliffe removes most of the risk in a used-car purchase. It does not remove all of it, and you should know where the edges are before you book.

We do not dismantle the engine, remove the gearbox or pull interior trim, so faults only visible during disassembly can't be ruled out. On Comprehensive and Elite, the engine undertray is removed where fitted, safely accessible and permitted.
