Pre-purchase car inspection in Marsden Park.

Marsden Park is one of the fastest-changing car markets in Sydney. Ten years ago it was paddocks. Today it is a wall of new estates, a large retail precinct, and a constant stream of trade vehicles working the construction fronts that are still moving north and west. The used cars that come out of 2765 reflect exactly that: young families in three-to-five-year-old SUVs, first-home-buyer budgets stretched thin, dual-cabs that have spent their lives on building sites, and a steady flow of ex-demonstrator and ex-lease vehicles from the dealer groups nearby. We come to the car, work through a structured inspection, run a professional diagnostic scan of every electronic module, road test it on both motorway and suburban roads, and hand you a written, photographed report on the spot with a clear verdict and costed repairs. We do not sell cars, and we are paid by you rather than the seller.

What is different about buying in a growth corridor

The stock here is young, and young stock hides its problems well. This is the age bracket where ex-demonstrator, ex-lease, ex-fleet and repaired-accident vehicles re-enter the market looking factory-fresh. Add utes that have worked unsealed construction access roads, summer heat well above what the coastal suburbs see, and long motorway commuting, and a three-year-old car here can be in a very different condition to a three-year-old car elsewhere.

Ex-demo and ex-lease histories sold as one-owner cars

We verify VIN and compliance data against the vehicle, cross-reference service history against the odometer and the dates, look for fleet or dealer decal shadows on paint and glass, and check whether interior wear is consistent with the claimed kilometres. An ex-lease car is not a bad car, but it should be priced as one.

Construction-site wear on trade utes

We inspect underbody protection, sump and transmission pan for impact damage, check suspension bushes and shocks for premature wear, look at the air filter and intake for dust ingestion, assess the clutch or torque converter, and examine tray and chassis mounting points for load-related stress and rear suspension sag.

Panel repair on near-new cars

Paint-depth readings across every panel tell us immediately whether a never-damaged three-year-old car has had work done. We photograph every reading, check panel gaps and the date stamps on lights and glass, look for overspray on seals and trim, and inspect the rails and inner structure behind the bumpers.

Heat-related failures

Battery condition and cranking performance, coolant condition and concentration, radiator and condenser fin corrosion and stone damage, hose and belt condition, and air conditioning vent output measured with a gauge rather than judged by hand. In this part of Sydney none of these are minor checks.

Dust ingestion and filtration neglect

Cars living beside active construction pull in a great deal of fine dust. We check the engine air filter, the cabin filter, the throttle body and intake tract, and the mass airflow sensor readings in live data, because a dust-damaged airflow sensor produces driveability faults that people spend a lot of money chasing.

Motorway kilometre wear items

Wheel bearings, tyres and their date codes, tread wear across the full width, CV boots, tailshaft joints, suspension bushes and shock absorbers. We road test at highway speed, because bearing noise and vibration simply do not appear at fifty kilometres an hour.

Driver-assistance systems that no longer work

Near-new cars are full of cameras, radar and sensors, and those systems are frequently disturbed by windscreen replacement or front-end repair and never recalibrated afterwards. We scan every driver-assist module for faults and calibration status and test the systems on the road.

Worth arranging before we arrive in Marsden Park

  • Ask whether the car was ever a demonstrator, lease or fleet vehicle.
  • Ask whether it has worked on building sites or unsealed roads.
  • Ask whether the windscreen has ever been replaced.
  • Ask whether it has had any panel repair, however minor.
  • Ask for the full service history including any dealer-performed work.
  • Confirm both keys are present before you agree on a price.
How it works

Booked, inspected, reported.

You don't need to be there and you don't need to move the car. Timing depends on inspector availability in your area and on when the seller can make the vehicle available — we confirm a time with you once we've spoken to them.

  1. 1

    Book online or call us

Send the listing and the address of the car. Tell us if there is anything specific you want checked.

  2. 2

We arrange the time with the seller

We contact the seller or the dealership directly and lock in a time that suits both sides, based on inspector availability in your area. You don't need to be there.

  3. 3

The inspection happens at the car

A qualified mobile inspector attends the vehicle where it is and works through the full checklist, including a road test.

  4. 4

You get the report before you commit

Comprehensive and Elite reports are issued on site. Essential reports are delivered the same day. Every report ends with a plain-English recommendation and a phone call if you want to talk it through.

Straight answers

What a mobile inspection can't tell you.

A pre-purchase inspection in Marsden Park removes most of the risk in a used-car purchase. It does not remove all of it, and you should know where the edges are before you book.

  • We do not dismantle the engine, remove the gearbox or pull interior trim, so faults only visible during disassembly can't be ruled out. On Comprehensive and Elite, the engine undertray is removed where fitted, safely accessible and permitted.
  • We work at the vehicle's location, not on a hoist. Underbody checks are done on portable ramps where safe and permitted; seized fasteners, unsafe access or seller refusal are recorded as inspection limitations.
  • A cold-start assessment is only possible if the seller leaves the engine untouched before we arrive. If the car has been warmed up, we record that in the report.
  • The road test runs on public roads at legal speeds, so it can't reproduce every intermittent fault or a fault that only appears under load or after long distances.
  • A PPSR check reports what is registered against the VIN on the day. It cannot show unreported damage or work done off the books.
  • The report describes the vehicle's condition on the day of inspection. It is not a warranty and not a valuation guarantee.
Questions

Marsden Park buyers ask us this.

Yes. A factory warranty does not cover accident repair quality, wear items, previous flood or hail damage, or commercial use. It also does not tell you whether the asking price is right.

Coverage

Also inspecting nearby.

Marsden Park sits inside our Western Sydney coverage. If the car you're chasing is a few suburbs over, it's the same service and the same price.
