How our reviews work, in plain English.
We make a strong claim: we cannot change or delete a customer review. Here is exactly what that means, what we can still do, and how you can check us on it.
Only real customers can leave a review
A review can only be written from a private link we send after an inspection has been completed and paid for. There is no public review form anywhere on this site.
If you have not booked an inspection with us, you cannot post a review — and neither can a competitor.
We cannot edit or delete reviews
Once a review is published, the words and the star rating are locked in our database. Our own staff accounts have no permission to change them and no permission to delete the record.
Every review carries a fingerprint — a code calculated from the exact text — shown underneath it. If a single character ever changed, the fingerprint would no longer match the day it was written.
We publish every rating
One star and five star alike. We do not hold back a bad review, and we do not choose which ones go on the wall. Everything published appears on our reviews page.
Three stars or below goes live within 48 hours
A review of three stars or fewer publishes automatically 48 hours after it is written. We use that time to contact the customer and try to put things right.
The review publishes either way — whether we fix it, and whether the customer replies to us or not. Only the customer can update their own review, and they can do that at any time, forever.
What we can do
Three things, and no more: we can reply publicly underneath a review, we can mark a review as disputed so you know we disagree with it, and we can hide a review — but only on one of these six grounds:
- Abusive or threatening
- Personal information
- Unverifiable defamatory claim
- Spam or advertising
- Duplicate review
- Not about an inspection we did
A hidden review is never deleted — it stays in the database, it is counted in the figures below, and it is listed in the log at the bottom of this page with the ground we cited.
