Running a road test only along Woodville Road tells you very little — constant braking and queueing masks driveline noise and hides how the gearbox shifts. We take the car onto quieter streets around Merrylands and Guildford for low-speed steering and suspension work, then onto a faster road for the parts of the test that need speed.
Sellers often suggest meeting at a centre car park because it is easy. Fluorescent lighting hides paint blends and overspray, low ceilings prevent proper underbody work, and there is rarely room to open a bonnet and doors fully. If that is the only option we will still inspect, and we will state clearly in the report which checks were limited by the location.

A pre-purchase inspection in Merrylands removes most of the risk in a used-car purchase. It does not remove all of it, and you should know where the edges are before you book.
Yes, and we attend independent lots as well as major dealer yards. We have no commercial relationship with any dealership in the area — we are engaged by the buyer, and the report is written for the buyer. Please give the yard notice so the car is unlocked and accessible when we arrive.
We will still do it. Some checks are constrained by the location — underbody assessment, paint-depth readings under artificial light, and anything requiring the car to be lifted — and the report says explicitly which ones were affected, so you are never left assuming something was checked when it wasn't.

Yes, and private sales are the situation where an independent inspection matters most: there is no statutory warranty on a private sale in NSW, and the vehicle is sold as it stands.
