Smithfield is half residential and half industrial estate, and that shapes the bookings we take here: a good share of the vehicles are being sold from a business address rather than a driveway. We attend either, and the report is written for you — the buyer — regardless of whose premises the car is standing on.
Between the Cumberland Highway, The Horsley Drive and the Smithfield industrial area, access here is often governed by someone's opening hours rather than a homeowner's convenience.
If the vehicle is at a workshop, yard or warehouse in the industrial estate, the inspection window is whatever that business is open for — commonly weekdays only. Book with that in mind and confirm the vehicle will be out of the workshop and accessible rather than mid-job on a hoist or parked behind stock.
A tray ute, van or light truck is not just a car with a different body. We check tray and tub mounting and rust at the mount points, tow-bar and trailer wiring, rear-spring and shock condition, and pull the scan tool for diesel emissions-system and exhaust fault history rather than trusting the dash light being off.
The Cumberland Highway and The Horsley Drive give a genuine mix — sustained higher-speed running plus signalised stop-start — inside a short loop. That combination matters more than distance, because low-speed shift quality and high-speed vibration are two different tests and a car can pass one and fail the other.
You don't need to be there and you don't need to move the car. Timing depends on inspector availability in your area and on when the seller can make the vehicle available — we confirm a time with you once we've spoken to them.
Send the listing and the address of the car. Tell us if there is anything specific you want checked.
We contact the seller or the dealership directly and lock in a time that suits both sides, based on inspector availability in your area. You don't need to be there.
A qualified mobile inspector attends the vehicle where it is and works through the full checklist, including a road test.

A pre-purchase inspection in Smithfield removes most of the risk in a used-car purchase. It does not remove all of it, and you should know where the edges are before you book.
Yes. Utes, vans and light commercials are core work for us. The standard checklist applies plus the commercial-specific items: tray or tub mounting and corrosion, tow-bar and wiring, rear suspension condition, and diesel exhaust and emissions fault history read from the ECU with a scan tool.
It changes what to verify. A vehicle sold by an unlicensed business is still a private-equivalent transaction for warranty purposes, and finance registered against the VIN by a company follows the vehicle. The PPSR check included with Comprehensive and Elite is the way you confirm that before you pay.
$199 Essential, $329 Comprehensive and $449 Elite, GST included, with no travel surcharge to 2164. The EV or hybrid battery health assessment is $199 on top of whichever tier you choose.
We inspect seven days, but a vehicle held at a business address can usually only be accessed while that business is open. If the seller is a trade premises, ask them first — we will book around whatever access they can actually provide.
Smithfield sits inside our South-West Sydney coverage. If the car you're chasing is a few suburbs over, it's the same service and the same price.
Tell us where the car is and we'll arrange the inspection with the seller. Written repair cover on Elite (30 days / up to $3,000).
