Pre-purchase inspection near me: Sydney suburb-by-suburb coverage in 2026
Same-day mobile pre-purchase inspections across every Sydney suburb — from Palm Beach to Camden, Penrith to Cronulla. Here's exactly which areas we cover, how routing works, and what to do if the seller is 90 minutes out.
The three words Sydney used-car buyers type into Google most often at 7pm on a weeknight: pre purchase inspection near me. You've found the car. The seller can only do tomorrow. You need an inspector who covers that suburb, ideally today or tomorrow, ideally without a travel surcharge.
This is our full 2026 coverage map — every region of Sydney, the typical response time, and the special cases we handle.
Sydney metro — full same-day coverage
For these regions we routinely book same-day (before 3pm request) or next-morning inspections at the standard flat price. No travel fee, no weekend premium.
Eastern Suburbs
Bondi, Bronte, Coogee, Randwick, Maroubra, Kensington, Waverley, Vaucluse, Rose Bay, Double Bay, Paddington. Tight terrace-parking is common — we work with low-profile creepers and often inspect kerbside where a hoist isn't practical.
Inner West
Newtown, Marrickville, Enmore, Leichhardt, Balmain, Rozelle, Lilyfield, Annandale, Petersham, Dulwich Hill, Ashfield, Summer Hill. Same terrace-parking playbook as the East. Popular with private-sale hatchback buyers.
Lower North Shore & Northern Beaches
Neutral Bay, Cremorne, Mosman, Kirribilli, McMahons Point, Chatswood, Lane Cove, Willoughby, St Leonards; Manly, Dee Why, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Mona Vale, Newport, Avalon, Palm Beach. Palm Beach is our northern limit for same-day — typical drive is 60 minutes, still no surcharge.
Upper North Shore & Hills
Hornsby, Wahroonga, Turramurra, Pymble, St Ives, Killara, Roseville; Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Bella Vista, Rouse Hill. Larger driveways here mean full hoist inspections are standard.
Western Sydney
Parramatta, Auburn, Granville, Merrylands, Blacktown, Mount Druitt, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Penrith, Kingswood, Emu Plains. High volume of trade auction ex-fleet cars — CarFacts checks are especially valuable in this catchment.
South West
Liverpool, Fairfield, Cabramatta, Bankstown, Chester Hill, Wetherill Park, Casula, Prestons, Ingleburn, Campbelltown, Camden. Camden is our south-west limit for same-day — 55 minutes typical drive.
Southern Suburbs & Sutherland Shire
Rockdale, Kogarah, Hurstville, Bexley, Ramsgate, Sans Souci; Cronulla, Miranda, Caringbah, Sylvania, Sutherland, Engadine, Menai, Bundeena. Bundeena requires 24 hours notice due to Royal National Park drive time.
Fringe zones — 24 hour notice usually needed
- Central Coast up to Gosford — we cross the Hawkesbury for pre-booked jobs, no surcharge under Terrigal.
- Blue Mountains up to Springwood — no surcharge; Katoomba and above by prior arrangement only.
- Wollongong / Illawarra — Bulli, Corrimal, Wollongong CBD covered with 24 hours notice, no surcharge.
- Southern Highlands (Mittagong, Bowral) — Elite tier bookings only, prior arrangement.
How suburb routing actually works
When you book, our system checks the seller's postcode against the day's inspector schedules. It routes the nearest available inspector — not a fixed inspector per suburb. This is how we hold same-day availability across a metro area as big as Sydney.
- 8 inspectors on the road across Sydney at peak times (weekdays 8am–5pm).
- 3 inspectors on Saturdays. No Sunday service.
- Average drive from previous job to next job: 22 minutes.
- Every inspector carries the same tool kit — hoist, paint gauge, OBD scanner, brake gauge, EV battery scan tool.
What to do if the seller can't be present
The seller (or an authorised person with keys) must be present. But that person doesn't have to be the owner — a family member, a friend, even a housemate with permission is fine as long as they can:
- Hand over the keys.
- Move the car if needed (or authorise us to).
- Answer basic questions about service history if they know them.
- Be present for the entire inspection (~60 minutes for Comprehensive).
For dealer inspections, dealer staff are always present. This is why dealer inspections are the easiest to book — no coordination needed.
Which suburbs have the highest inspection failure rates
Not a suburb-shaming exercise — genuinely useful buyer data. In the last 12 months, these are the Sydney regions where inspections most often uncover material defects that trigger a walk-away or major negotiation:
| Region | Walk-away rate | Most common issue |
|---|---|---|
| Western Sydney (auction / ex-fleet heavy) | 24% | Undisclosed accident repair |
| South West Sydney | 22% | Odometer discrepancy vs CarHistory records |
| Inner West | 16% | Timing chain rattle on 2015-2018 European hatches |
| Northern Beaches | 12% | Salt-air corrosion under body panels |
| Eastern Suburbs | 10% | Kerb damage repaired without disclosure |
| Sutherland Shire | 9% | Marine environment corrosion, boat-tow wear on utes |
The message: high failure rate doesn't mean bad sellers — it means these are the areas where inspections deliver the most value. If you're buying in Western or South West Sydney, the ROI on a Comprehensive inspection is genuinely higher than average.
Common questions
Common questions
Do you charge more for suburbs further out?
No. Flat price across the entire Sydney metro coverage area — Palm Beach, Camden, Penrith and Bundeena are the same price as Bondi. We build travel time into our routing, not our billing.
Can I book if the car is at a mechanic or panel shop?
Yes. We inspect at workshops, panel shops, storage lots, or dealership yards. The only requirement is that the car is accessible and someone authorises us to inspect it.
What if the seller moves the car before you arrive?
Give us the new address — we route the inspector accordingly. If the seller is being cagey about location, that's a red flag and we'll flag it in your pre-inspection call.
Do you inspect at Sydney airport (Kingsford-Smith)?
Yes — we regularly inspect airport-arrival cars for interstate and international buyers before final purchase. Airport parking access is arranged in advance.
What if it starts raining during the inspection?
Light rain we work through — most tests aren't rain-sensitive. Heavy rain that would compromise test-drive braking safety, we reschedule at no extra cost. Sydney weather is a fact of life in this job.
