Pink slip (NSW eSafety check)
The annual safety inspection NSW requires for most vehicles 5+ years old before re-registration.
A 'pink slip' is the everyday name for an NSW eSafety inspection — required to renew rego on most light vehicles older than 5 years. It's a roadworthy/safety check (brakes, tyres, suspension, lights, steering, body) and the result is uploaded electronically to TfNSW. There's no paper certificate. Cost is capped by TfNSW at $42 for cars (plus $20 admin), or around $65 all-in for mobile service.
