NSW Compliance
Blue slip (Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection)
A deeper inspection required to register an unregistered, interstate or significantly modified vehicle in NSW.
A blue slip (AUVIS) is the inspection required when registering an unregistered vehicle in NSW — common for interstate purchases, written-off-then-repaired vehicles, or major modifications. It's more thorough than an eSafety check and includes a VIN and compliance check. Most mobile providers do not offer blue slips — they require a workshop. A pre-purchase inspection before a blue slip can save you a failed blue slip fee.
