Buying & Finance
PPSR (Personal Property Securities Register)
The federal register that shows whether a vehicle has finance owing, is stolen, or has been written off.
A PPSR check (formerly REVS) reveals three critical things: (1) any active finance encumbrance — if you buy a car with money owing, the financier can repossess it from you; (2) whether the vehicle is recorded as stolen; (3) any written-off-vehicle (WOVR) record. A PPSR certificate costs $2 directly from ppsr.gov.au and is included free with every Aussie Auto Care PPI.
