Vehicle rebirthing
Re-VINning a stolen vehicle using identity parts from a written-off car.
Rebirthed cars combine the body and VIN of a wreck with the running gear of a stolen vehicle. Telltale signs: mismatched paint inside the engine bay, fresh welds near VIN locations, and odometer readings inconsistent with service history. A PPI cross-checks VINs in 6+ locations.
