North and west of the highway you mostly get a driveway or a carport, which is the easiest possible setting for an inspection. Around the station and the former brickpit site the stock is apartments with basement bays. We ask which one applies at booking, because a basement job needs access arranged and, ideally, the car brought up for the paint and underbody work.

That means we can get a car up to a sustained, legal speed within minutes of leaving the seller's address, which is where wheel balance, driveline vibration, gearbox lock-up and brake shudder actually reveal themselves.
The Shire's tree cover is heavy and streets on the Royal National Park side of the suburb sit under mature canopy. Leaf litter blocks sunroof, windscreen cowl and door drain paths, and that is what turns into a wet carpet later. On any car parked under trees we clear and check those drains and lift the carpet edges rather than judging the cabin by smell.
Plenty of vehicles in the Shire have spent weekends towing to Port Hacking or carrying loaded roof racks. That leaves evidence — tow-bar wear and wiring quality, rear suspension sag, transmission fluid condition on an automatic, and roof-rail mount corrosion. We look at those specifically rather than assuming the advertised kilometres tell the whole story.

Yes, both. A driveway is the ideal setting. A basement is workable for diagnostics, electrical, fluids and interior, but poor for paint reading and underbody sight-lines, so we ask for the car to be brought to daylight where the building allows it. Where the car is registered and insured and the seller consents, yes. Highway speed is what exposes vibration, wheel balance, torque-converter lock-up and steering pull, none of which show up reliably at 50 km/h. If a road test cannot happen, the report records why instead of leaving a gap.
Yes, and we treat it as its own line of enquiry — tow-bar and wiring condition, rear suspension ride height, transmission fluid condition, cooling system state and brake wear pattern. Towing is not a fault, but a car that has towed hard and been serviced on a standard interval is a different proposition to one that has not.
No. Kirrawee 2232 is inside our standard Sydney service area. Essential is $199, Comprehensive $329 and Elite $449, with the EV or hybrid battery health assessment $199 on top of any tier. All prices include GST and travel.
Yes. Any tier covers the vehicle itself; the $199 battery health assessment is what measures the traction pack's state of health and issues it as a separate certificate. State of health cannot be read off the dashboard, which is why it is a separate piece of equipment and a separate line item.
