Pre-purchase car inspection in Lansvale.

Booking a pre-purchase car inspection in Lansvale means we come to the vehicle — a Hume Highway forecourt, a side street off Hollywood Drive, or a private driveway in 2166. You confirm where the car is parked when you book, we arrange access with the seller, and you get an independent written report with photographs before you sign anything or pay a deposit.

Same-day or next-day inspection appointments, subject to availability.

Why buyers here book us

One inspection, before the money moves.

The car stays where it is

Nothing has to be driven to a workshop and no seller has to surrender their car for half a day. We attend the Lansvale or South-West Sydney address where the vehicle already sits and work through the full checklist there.

A road test that loads the driveline

With the Hume Highway, Henry Lawson Drive and the M5 all close by, the road test can include sustained-speed running and full-lock work rather than a lap of the forecourt. Driveline shudder, lock-up behaviour and suspension knock only show up under load.

Written evidence, not an opinion

You receive a written report with photographs of each finding and the inspector's recommendation — proceed, proceed with conditions, or walk away. Comprehensive and Elite are issued on site before the inspector leaves.

Buying in Lansvale

Inspecting a car in Lansvale, practically speaking

Three things shape a 2166 job: highway-frontage forecourts where stock is parked tight and nose-out, a lot of trade-sourced vehicles whose paperwork is thinner than the sales pitch, and immediate access to the Hume, Henry Lawson Drive and the M5 for a road test that actually loads the driveline.

01

Forecourt stock is parked to be seen, not to be inspected

Along the Hume Highway frontage the display rows are set nose-out and door-to-door, because every metre of frontage is selling space. That layout is fine for photographs and hopeless for assessment: you cannot open a door fully, you cannot walk a paint gauge down a flank at a consistent angle, and you cannot get a torch along the sills. So the first thing we ask a Lansvale yard for is the car moved to the service area or the rear of the lot with clear space on both sides, keys available and the vehicle unlocked. When a yard cannot free that space, the report names each item the parking prevented us from checking rather than quietly passing it as inspected.

02

Trade-sourced stock means the history has to be verified, not assumed

The highway yards through 2166 turn stock quickly, and a lot of it arrives through the wholesale and auction channel rather than as a local trade-in with a stamped book. That changes what matters in the inspection. We read the build plate and compliance data against the advertised variant and build year, cross-check the VIN on the chassis against the VIN on the windscreen, glass etching and the registration papers, interrogate every control module for stored and pending faults, and record what service evidence physically exists rather than what the salesperson says exists. A PPSR check for finance, written-off status and stolen records is booked alongside the inspection and reported with a reference number.

03

A yard car has usually been detailed, and detailing hides panel work

A car that has sat on a highway forecourt has been washed, cut and polished for display, and a fresh polish is very good at hiding overspray edges, blend lines and a slightly proud panel. So gloss counts for nothing here and numbers count for everything. The gauge goes across each panel in a fixed pattern and the readings are set against one another; shut lines, hinge bolts and bumper clips are read for disturbance; sealer beads and factory welds in the door apertures, under the bonnet and beneath the boot mat are compared with how the factory leaves them; and the floor pan is examined for straightening evidence that no amount of cutting compound reaches. Whatever the readings show is photographed and written in plain language.

04

The Hume, Henry Lawson Drive and the M5 give a road test worth having

A display car is often started only for test drives, which is exactly the condition that hides drivetrain faults. Where the vehicle is registered and insured and the seller agrees, the road network here lets us do the job properly: sustained highway speed on the Hume or the M5 to find torque-converter shudder, a gearbox that will not lock up, load-dependent driveline vibration and steering that wanders under crosswind, then the slower run along Henry Lawson Drive and the residential streets off Hollywood Drive for full-lock CV noise, brake shudder under load and the suspension knock that only speaks up over a compression. If a road test is not permitted, the report states that plainly instead of implying the car was driven.

Lansvale 2166 sits inside our South-West Sydney coverage, so the tier price you see is the price you pay — travel is included and there is no Fairfield call-out surcharge. We inspect at private addresses and at dealer yards on the same terms, and the vehicle's exact location is confirmed with you during booking before we contact the seller.

How it works

Booked, inspected, reported.

You don't need to be there and you don't need to move the car. Timing depends on inspector availability in your area and on when the seller can make the vehicle available — we confirm a time with you once we've spoken to them.

  1. 1

    Book online or call us

Send the listing and the address of the car. Tell us if there is anything specific you want checked.

  2. 2

We arrange the time with the seller

We contact the seller or the dealership directly and lock in a time that suits both sides, based on inspector availability in your area. You don't need to be there.

  3. 3

The inspection happens at the car

A qualified mobile inspector attends the vehicle where it is and works through the full checklist, including a road test.

  4. 4

You get the report before you commit

Comprehensive and Elite reports are issued on site. Essential reports are delivered the same day. Every report ends with a plain-English recommendation and a phone call if you want to talk it through.

What you receive

The report you can act on.

Photographs, plain-English findings and a stated recommendation — written for you, not for the seller.

A written report with photographs of every finding

Each fault is photographed and described in plain English rather than reduced to a score. Comprehensive and Elite reports are issued on site before the inspector leaves; Essential reports are delivered the same day.

A plain-English recommendation

The report ends with the inspector's recommendation — proceed, proceed with conditions, or walk away — and you can ring us to talk it through before you make an offer or pay a deposit.

Evidence you can negotiate with

Comprehensive and Elite include repair-cost estimates alongside the findings. Those estimates are a general guide only; actual costs can vary between workshops.

History and diagnostics on the record

Comprehensive and Elite include a PPSR history check against the VIN and a scan-tool read of the vehicle's fault memory, both reported with the rest of the findings.

How an inspection plays out

Three ways a report changes the decision.

These are illustrative buying scenarios written by our inspectors to show how the process works in Lansvale. They are not customer case studies: no real buyer, vehicle, outcome, saving, review or statistic is described or implied, and what a report finds varies from car to car.

Illustrative scenario

A highway forecourt car with a thin history

The situation
A vehicle advertised by a Hume Highway yard is parked nose-out in the display row, and the logbook shown at the listing has gaps rather than a continuous stamped record.
What we concentrate on
We ask for the car to be moved into open space with the keys available, then verify build plate and compliance data against the advertised variant, cross-check the VIN across the chassis, glass and registration papers, scan every module for stored and pending faults, and record what service evidence physically exists.
What the report shows
The report photographs what was verified, what could not be verified, and any fault codes found, alongside the standard mechanical, electrical and body checks. A PPSR search on Comprehensive and Elite covers finance, written-off and stolen records against the VIN.
Your next step
You go back to the yard with evidence rather than an impression, and decide whether to proceed, ask for work to be done, or walk away.
Illustrative scenario

A freshly detailed car where gloss hides panel work

The situation
A car has been cut and polished for display, so the paint looks uniform in daylight and any previous repair is not obvious from a walk-around.
What we concentrate on
Paint-depth readings taken in a fixed pattern across each panel and compared against one another, plus shut lines, hinge and bumper fasteners, sealer beads and factory welds in the door apertures, under the bonnet and beneath the boot mat, and the floor pan for straightening evidence.
What the report shows
The report sets out the readings and photographs the areas that disagree with their neighbours, describing what the physical evidence suggests rather than asserting an accident history the paperwork does not show.
Your next step
You can weigh repair evidence against the asking price, or ask for the PPSR record and any repair invoices before committing.
Illustrative scenario

A road test that uses the Hume and the M5

The situation
A display vehicle has mostly been idled and moved around the lot, and the seller agrees to a road test on a registered and insured car.
What we concentrate on
Sustained highway running for torque-converter shudder, lock-up behaviour, load-dependent driveline vibration and steering tracking, then slower streets off Hollywood Drive and Henry Lawson Drive for full-lock CV noise, brake shudder and suspension knock over compressions.
What the report shows
The report records how the car behaved at each speed range with photographs of any related findings. If a road test is not permitted, the report says so plainly instead of implying the car was driven.
Your next step
You know before the deposit whether the driveline behaves under load, and can factor any finding into your offer or your decision to keep looking.

Any repair costs or price estimates in a report are estimates only and are intended as a general guide. Actual repair costs can vary between workshops depending on labour rates, parts used, the extent of repairs required and other factors.

Have a car in mind in Lansvale?

Send us the listing and the address it is parked at. We confirm the vehicle's location with you at booking, arrange access with the seller, and report back to you — not to them.

Before we arrive

Your pre-booking checklist.

A few minutes of preparation makes the Lansvale inspection materially more useful — and costs you nothing.

  1. 1Ask the yard or seller to leave the car cold — a display vehicle idled warm before you arrive hides cold-start knock, start-up smoke and a lazy crank.
  2. 2Ask for the car to be pulled out of the display row into open space with the keys available, because that is what decides how much of the panel and underbody work can be completed.
  3. 3Send the listing link, the rego and the advertised kilometres at booking so we can hold the claimed variant, build date and odometer against the car in front of us.
  4. 4Confirm the exact address the car is parked at when you book, including whether it is a forecourt, a side street or a private driveway, so the inspector arrives with the right access arranged.
  5. 5Have the registration papers, logbook and any service invoices available; we photograph them and cross-check the intervals against the odometer.
  6. 6Say at booking whether you want the PPSR check included, and whether a road test has been agreed with the seller.
Straight answers

What a mobile inspection can't tell you.

A pre-purchase inspection in Lansvale removes most of the risk in a used-car purchase. It does not remove all of it, and you should know where the edges are before you book.

Read the recommendation last

Work through the photographed findings first, then the inspector's recommendation. If anything is unclear, ring us — talking the report through before you make an offer is part of what you paid for.

Separate wear from defect

Consumables such as tyres, brake pads, wipers and a tired battery are normal and quantifiable. Structural repair evidence, corrosion and drivetrain faults are a different conversation. The report separates the two so you can price them differently.

Treat estimates as a guide

Repair-cost estimates in Comprehensive and Elite reports are estimates only. Actual costs can vary between workshops depending on labour rates, parts used and the extent of the repair required.

  • We do not dismantle the engine, remove the gearbox or pull interior trim, so faults only visible during disassembly can't be ruled out. On Comprehensive and Elite, the engine undertray is removed where fitted, safely accessible and permitted.
  • We work at the vehicle's location, not on a hoist. Underbody checks are done on portable ramps where safe and permitted; seized fasteners, unsafe access or seller refusal are recorded as inspection limitations.
  • A cold-start assessment is only possible if the seller leaves the engine untouched before we arrive. If the car has been warmed up, we record that in the report.
  • The road test runs on public roads at legal speeds, so it can't reproduce every intermittent fault or a fault that only appears under load or after long distances.
  • A PPSR check reports what is registered against the VIN on the day. It cannot show unreported damage or work done off the books.
  • The report describes the vehicle's condition on the day of inspection. It is not a warranty and not a valuation guarantee.
Questions

Lansvale buyers ask us this.

Yes — the whole service is mobile, so the inspector goes to the forecourt, the side street or the private address where the car is sitting in 2166. Your attendance is optional, and nobody has to move an unproven car to a workshop for it to be assessed properly.
