NSW Compliance
GVM (Gross Vehicle Mass)
The maximum legal loaded weight of a vehicle — critical for utes, vans and light trucks.
A vehicle with GVM up to 4,500 kg is 'light truck' class in NSW. Exceeding GVM is illegal, voids insurance, and damages chassis/suspension. On a light-truck PPI we check GVM rating on the compliance plate, inspect for chassis sag and over-load damage, and verify any GVM upgrade kits are engineer-certified.
